Give Your Plants, Trees and Sod What Is Needed And That Is Water
Water is life for landscape in Florida!
Plants
Water All Landscape Plants. Water 4 Days A week For One Month With Hose. Water slowly, do not only splash the tops. Water the plants letting the plant soak up the water 4 days a week. A Few Minutes with a gentle flow on the ground for each plant will allow it to beome established and grow.
Plants need water to grow. 90% of plants die from a lack of water. Gradually Cut Back To 3 and than 2 Times A Week. Plants need water, new plants with roots that have not been established need water frequently or the roots shrink up and the plant can die. There is no alternative to watering frequently.
Sprinkling systems will not provide enough water for plants. Please, use a hose and take the time. Water and your time will result in your plants health.
Palms - Water Everyday For Thirty Minutes For Thirty Days. Watering any longer will not help the tree! Not watering will result in plant death.
Palms - Water Thirty Days For Thirty Minutes.
Set the timers! Remove Nozzle, Lay Hose Tip In The Circle That Was Created Around Palm And Let Water Run Softly.
When To Water
Water in the morning for best effect. If you water early and get water on the leaves, they have time to dry out over the course of the day.
How to Water It is important that you water the soil, not the plant. It’s not the plant you want to wet, it’s the soil. Plants take up water though their roots and therefore one needs to make sure that there is plenty of water in the soil.
Florida Drought
Plants get stressed when the water conditions vary too widely. Slowly reduce your watering days to 1 to 2 days per week. When your plants are established they can tolerate less water. Don't leave your plants to be forgotten and only grow. Plants give more back to you when they are cared for regularly.
A Bottle of fresh water is something most of us enjoy on a hot day.
Remember the plants because they want water too!

SOD
Watering Begin watering as soon as sod installation is completed in any area. 90% of plant death is because of a lack of water. Sod is new grass that has recently been harvested from the land. The roots are now exposed. There is a need for water as soon as possible. Once the sod is on the ground, the roots are ready to start establishment!
The ground needs to be saturated if possible. The water is to prevent the sod from shrinking.
Watering hose or lawn irrigation system is perfect for the job. Set your timers to the longest setting on the timer.
Sod Establishment
Floratam Sod - St. Augustine Sod and Bahia Sod can be planted year-round in Florida as the tempature is generally warmer, the best time to plant is when environmental conditions allow for rapid establishment. Allowing the grass to establish and develop a deep root system before it experiences temperature extremes will help it establish more quickly.
As The Weather Changes ... We Recommend
Our Winters are becoming longer, our weather is becoming colder. We recommend the best time to sod is after the freezing weather. We want your lawn to have the optimal growth and that is when it is "nice" outside.
It is important to provide frequent irrigation when grass is establishling. Multiple, short irrigations throughout the course of the day for 7 to 10 days following planting will help the grass establish. After the roots have pegged down, cut back frequency to once a day and increase the time to 1/4 to ½ inch for another 7 days. After this, reduce frequency to 2 to 3 times weekly, again applying ¼ to ½ inch of water. Three to 4 weeks after sodding, the grass should be fully established and irrigation can begin on an “as-needed” basis.
